Born-again Pastor Ben Ochola urges that any preacher of the gospel who seeks to win souls to Christ must never depend on his or her own strength or abilities but, seek the Holy Spirit’s great intervention through prayer.
In an update on Wednesday, Pastor Ochola explained that “there are evil forces that are holding back sinners, clouding their minds and thoughts, manipulating them that they may see salvation as being irrelevant.”
“It takes intense prayers to break the hold of the evil forces from controlling them and cause them to come to themselves, and receive Christ,” he said.
He quoted 2 Corinthians 4:4, which says, ‘In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.’
Pastor Ochola Ben explained why it is the vital role of every Christian to spread the Good News of the Gospel not only in the Christian community of believers but most especially to the heathen world of sinners and unbelievers as well.
“The Father’s business is none other than the souls of men. Therefore, as followers of Christ, our primary assignment is soul winning, pointing men to Jesus. The LORD’s command was; “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you” (John 20:21). Soul winning is only effective through prayers,” he said, quoting John 3:16.
The scripture reads, ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’
“It will take more than self-centred prayers whose end result is arrival mentality. The Father’s business will demand you to labour ceaselessly in prayers. The more we labour in prayers for the soul is the more sinners are convicted to receive salvation,” he said.
“We are now in the moment of the last days, [let us] invest our energy in what counts most, the Father’s business, and deliberately spare time to labour in prayers for souls many shall be saved in these last days,” he added.
