“Our disappointments are God’s appointments” is one of those well-known “Christian cliches”. Unfortunately we sometimes become desensitized to the truth of much-quoted sayings because of their familiarity.
The above statement is not only true but very important, and we need to constantly remind ourselves that God really is in control of our disappointments.
In 2012, 24-year-old dance hall gospel singer Zabuli Julia faced her first big disappointment upon lost her Muslim father to HIV/AIDS.
Born to a Christian mother, Zabuli, real name Nasejje Jalilah graduated at Makerere University to become a professional teacher however, she did not pursue this career – God knew what He was doing all along. He still does!
“I didn’t know I would be a musician but I had a feeling I was going to be someone. God alone has groomed and mentored me into the woman and person I am now,” she said during one recent interview with Glow Magazine.
The gospel singer took to social media on Sunday saying that from disappointments God appointed her. From a mess, she turned out to become a miracle.
“From an outcast to a princess. I want you all to know this, God loves you as much,” she said “If He could turn me around from zero to somebody’s hero now – The grace was availed for all of us thousands of years ago. You just need to make an effort and meet God half way by receiving his love, forgiveness, peace, joy, healing.”
Zabuli then took an amazing step further to call her readers to salvation, through faith in Christ.
“First of all accept by heart and speak *with your mouth. You want to receive the Jesus I received years back ? The journey has not been easy, but he has been here for Me all the way through. Pray with me – just repeat after me,” she stated
“Dear lord Jesus. I accept you died for me on that cross to give me a second chance. you are the only lord and savior. Come in to my heart. Forgive me of all my sins and wash me clean. You are the new Lord of my life, in Jesus’ name I believe we have prayed. Amen.”
“If you want proof of what amazing love Jesus has showed a former thug and outlaw like, me inbox. I am a living and walking *testimony more so functioning rightly,” the mentor and counselor said.
Zabuli recently released her new album that has songs Take the will, Appy (Mulina), Nvuvuma, Addicted, Super love, Boom (Alright), Ooh La La among others.
