Everyone needs Jesus, she says.

Ugandan singer Madinah Asiimwe Nambooze, better known as Hajjat Madina, has said she is preparing for baptism following her decision to receive Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior last Friday.

Madina left Islam during the 77 Days of Glory revival meeting hosted by Pastor Robert Kayanja at Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga in Kampala.

She has told local press she wasn’t targeting financial support or sympathy from the church, “I specifically went there to get saved,” she explained.

Madina hit Uganda’s music scene years back with the release of her single, ‘Bibuuza’, which laments the experience of a woman left by her spouse.

“I am born again,” she told press on June 11. “What you need to know is that every body needs Jesus. Every one needs to get saved.”

Madina said she is not worried about the backlash from the Muslim community

“It is God who created me, not them. I decided to get saved, and receive Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and savior. To all my supporters, I am born-again. I would like those who embraced me as I was Muslim, to continue doing so, even now that I am born-again,”

“No one forced me to make this decision. Whether there is money or not, I do not mind. I made this decision from the bottom of my heart and with my entire soul. I am going to get baptized.

She said she will now gather with born-again believers for prayers, not in a Mosque.
