Christian artiste and bible scholar, Ashey Wandera is one of a few Ugandans who have had an opportunity to meet Kevin Sorbo, a popular american actor and Director of movies like “Hercules”, “God’s Not Dead 1”, and the latest; “Let There Be Light”.

The group rubbed shoulders with the actor during the celebration of Christian Men’s Network 40 years of powerful ministry – and the launch of the next 40, held at Sheraton Hotel Fort Worth, Dallas, Texas from 8-10 November.

The Ministry says this celebration gathered world-class men who have stood for God in the face of adversity.

In his speech, actor Kevin talked about fatherhood, modern manhood, and taking a stand for God and righteousness in Hollywood.

In 2014, Sorbo starred in “God’s Not Dead,” a Christian movie that ended up with domestic box office receipts of $60.7 million on a production budget of $2 million. It ranks 8th all-time in box office for Christian movies.

“Let There Be Light”, which was released last month (27 October) has already made more than $4.5 million after just two weekends in theaters, according to the web site boxofficemojo.

The anniversary was headlined by Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer who is said to carry global influence as one of the leading Christian academics, and pastor of one of America’s most significant churches.

The Christian Men’s Network has trained over 1 million leaders in 200 nations, including Uganda.

Its curriculum, basically “Majoring in Men” has according to sources become the most successful men’s mentoring material of its kind, adopted by two major denominations for their international men’s ministry, and endorsed by over 8 million men.
