Anointed Upper Room Church on Friday awarded and prayed for gifted stars and crowned winners of the inaugural edition of East Africa’s Got Talent (EAGT) Ezekiel and Esther Mutesasira.
The awarding ceremony happened at Bat Valley theater in Kampala during the climax of a 2-day ‘break thought’ conference hosted by the church founder and Pastor Steven Mutesasira.
“As a church, we decided to prepare this award for you, and also use this opportunity to speak a blessing upon your life,” Pastor Steven Mutesasira said.
Pastor Steven Mutesasira, who doubles as Ezekiel and Esther’s father, expressed desire in seeing the siblings use their talents for God’s glory.
He prayed against the duo being separated from God and the Church.
“We hand them this a ward, that wheresoever they go, they will be awarded,” he stated, praying for blessing without sorrow.
Ezekiel and Esther Mutesasira’s victory has been met with resounding applause across East Africa and Beyond. They received a $50,000 cash prize after beating three other groups in the finale held in the EAGT Nairobi studios on October 6.
Speaking to The EastAfrican in Dar es Salaam earlier, Esther stated that together with her brother, they plan to spend 20 per cent of the money to help street children and drug addicts.
“When we won I was so happy. Thanks to our aunt for believing, this gave us the courage at the contest. With the money we are now able to help others,” said Ezekiel.
The duo entered the competition with the support and persistence of their Aunt Gladys.
Lately, Ezekiel and Esther have hinted on going for the upcoming auditions for America’s Got Talent.
