An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.7 has shaken several parts of East Africa, especially Tanzania. Tremors have been felt as far as western Kenya and parts of Uganda. Similar effects have also been felt in Kigali, Rwanda.
The U.S. Geological Survey said Saturday that there is a low likelihood of casualties and damage, however the latest details from former Kakuuto MP Mathias Kasamba indicate that at least four people have been reported to have died in Rakai district.
The dead were residents of Kamuli village in Kibanda sub-county located less than 20kms from the northern Tanzania town of Nsunga, which has been named as the epicenter of the quake, the Observer reports.
UG Christian News has also learnt that strong tremors were felt in Delhi and neighbouring Gurgaon and Noida, where an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale struck Jhajjar in Haryana areas.
Some claim they felt tremors for nearly 30 seconds in Delhi.
Well, according to Jesus Christ, as recorded in Luke 12:35-48, he is coming again, not as the Savior of the world, but as the final Judge, and then he will bless the faithful servants, and the unfaithful servants will come into judgment. (This is the truth not so many love to hear.)
Some of your thoughts on social media got us thinking, is this a sign of the second coming of Christ? In light of that reality, are you prepared for Jesus’ second coming?
When Jesus Christ’s disciples asked Him about His return and the “end of the world,” their focus was not on the physical end of the earth and its civilization per say.
They had in mind the end of the age of man’s rule and the commencement of a different age ruled by Jesus Christ as king, a reign identified elsewhere in Scripture as the kingdom of God.
In His reply, Christ described the many and varied conditions that would precede His return.
They included such things as deception, wars, famines, disease epidemics, earthquakes and religious persecution, all culminating in an unprecedented time of worldwide calamity. We have already experienced some of these today.
Here is what we have come across on social media concerning the earthquake.
