The duo, Aloysius Kiiza Matovu and Evangelist Semugooma Francisco who dragged Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of the House of Prayer Ministries International to court accusing him of burning Bibles has warned against reading the Queen James Bible.
They recently revealed during a televised interview with Presiding Apostle of the Born Again Faith Federation, Dr Joseph Serwadda that the Queen James Bible (QJV) is a gay bible with an edit of the original biblical text to suit its readers.
Evangelist Semugooma said publishers printed this Bible in 2002 based on the 1769 edition of the King James Bible however, with all negative references to homosexuality removed.
But no one is coming up to burn it, Dr Serwadda interjected.
“We have bibles of two grouping. Those that are general. These belong and can be used by us all. We also have those that are specific. for-example that of Jehovah’s witness. They have their own customized bible. I don’t even know the manuscripts they used. The homosexuals have also made their own bible. It is called the Queen James. It even has their symbol of the rainbow.” Author of Christian books, Evangelist Semugooma said.
The editors of the Queen James Bible, who chose to be anonymous, claim that there was no reference to homosexuality in any Bible translation prior to the 1946 Revised Standard Version. Then, they assert, “anti-LGBT Bible interpretations” arose, based on a faulty translation in the RSV of eight verses.
This discussion was triggered by Dr Serwadda who had asked the duo together with their lawyer, Counsel Anthony Wameli Yeboah if there there is a bible that can lead a Christian to hell.
“That is why we were specific in court – when you ask generally; is their a fake bible ? My answer will be yes and no. We are specific in court. The bibles we have heard being abused or under threat of being burnt are – the Old King James that has the word Holy Ghost, Good news and American standard version. They are not fake, I can clearly give us all scripture even those they say are missing.” Counsel Anthony Wameli Yeboah said.
Mr Anthony said his team of lawyers is always listening to all Pr Bugingo’s programs subsequently – day and night so that we keep the information.
“We translate some of these statements onto evidence in court.” He said.
