Founder of Victory Christian Centre Church located in Ndeeba, Dr Joseph Serwadda has encouraged Christians facing seemingly impossible situations in life to hold fast to the word of God without wavering for there is always hope, no matter how bad things look.
Speaking during a gospel crusade at Iganga Railway Grounds in Iganga District, eastern Uganda on 27th September, 2019, Dr Joseph Serwadda said God’s power makes all things possible.
He was in the company of Church leaders from Busoga region, and many more from Entebbe, Mityana, Nabbingo, Ziroobwe and Kampala including Apostle Tumwine Charles, Pr Steven Mulungi, Pr Jamadah Kikomeko and Pr Buyondo Herbert.
The crusade included a Business seminar, Ministers seminar and marrieds gathering where couples were equipped and empowered through biblical messages to strengthen their marriages.
Bad Water, Barren Ground
Dr Joseph Serwadda used a brief but powerful incident from the early ministry of Elisha, recounted in four verses (2 Kings 2:19-22) to explain how certain tough situations in a life and nation require divine intervention.
“The men of the city said to Elisha, ‘Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.’ ‘Bring me a new bowl,’ he said, ‘and put salt in it.’ So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, ‘This is what the LORD says: “I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.”‘ And the water has remained wholesome to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.” (2 Kings 19-22).
In that moment when Elisha declared the word of the Lord over the spring at Jericho, Dr Serwadda told the congregation that everything in the city changed—forever.
“There is going to be remedy even for the things you think are impossible. There are things that a man can help you with. But then, there are things for which only God can intervene to help you,” Dr Serwadda said in his sermon.
The preacher of over 44 years of service testified about how God helped him since he was called to ministry.
“I started preaching on the streets, then I became an evangelist, and I became a Pastor – The God who has helped me these many years, will help you tonight,” he said.
“Anything that is negative in your life, family, ministry and at your work place stops tonight. We came here that every curse will be destroyed, and bondage removed. The power of God is going to come to you,” he continued.
Dr Serwadda encouraged Born-again church leaders in Busoga saying God loves them and that their work is not in vain. ‘God appreciates what you are doing,’ he said.
