The memorial service for Pastor Gideon Mulinde, who died Thursday, has been set for 25th Sept. 2021 at The Nations Prayer Mountain Seguku.
A lawyer as well as a worshipper, the beloved son of Dr. John W. Mulinde, founder and general overseer of World Trumpet Mission, will be buried at Kanganda, a village located in Kabembe parish – off Kayunga Road on 28th Sept, 2021.
On behalf of the pastoral team, Kampala Trumpet Center, Pastor Bwire Godfrey said in a statement: “He [Gideon] felt pain in the abdomen and was taken to Yesu Akwagala Hospital for diagnosis and the case worsened until he breathed his last breathe at about 8 p.m. Thursday.”
Prior to his passing, Gideon served alongside his father under the World Trumpet Mission in the worship and prayer department. He was also head of the David Initiative (D.I) on the Prayer mountain.
Gideon took the gospel in several countries around the world, including Malaysia, Korea, Israel, Kenya, Hong Kong, Botswana. He was also on the international board of Joshua Generation of Jerusalem House of Prayer for all Nations and the founder of Order of Melchizedek; a young leaders’ organization that focuses on understanding Kingdom leadership principles of revival in all major walks of life.
In a May 2021 Facebook Live broadcast, Gideon encouraged spiritual warfare prayers for supernatural help especially among nations hardest hit by Covid-19. He cited Matthew 12:29, where Jesus says, “How can anyone enter the strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.”
“We are living in a time where so many people are losing hope. So many people do not know where to start from,” he said then. Pastor Gideon explained that God’s truth is the supreme weapon against the father of lies ( John 8:44), and that only when we know the truth and commit ourselves to obey it will we stand strong.
On spiritual breakthrough in life, Gideon encouraged persistence through prayer, noting that “when nearing the shore, there are often so many tides that pull you back from all sides.”
Robert Kayanja Jr., the in charge of creatives at Miracle Centre Cathedra Rubaga – Kampala remembered Pastor Gideon Mulinde as a “great worship leader” and “absolute joy to be around.”
“My family won’t be the same without you, we all love you! You made all our lives better,” Kayanja paid tribute to the deceased. “We will not forget you! We will always celebrate you!”
In her condolence message, Pastor Justine Nabbosa of the Worship House encouraged the body of Christ to pray for the family of Dr. John Mulinde.
“I can’t find the right words. Please join me in praying for the family of Dr. John Mulinde as we take in the news of the loss of his son Pastor Gideon Mulinde. Only God can comfort in such times. Praying for everyone going through loss and pain right now. Rest In Peace Gideon,” Justine Nabbosa said.
Gideon Mulinde and wife Mrs. Faith had just celebrated their first year anniversary last week as a married couple, and also had plans of hosting a worship event in conjunction with Sinza Worship on 25th Sept. 2021.
The event organisers issued a statement saying, his death “leaves us at a loss for words.”
Since it was pre-recorded, the worship event will go on as scheduled – in memory of the deceased.
