‘Our God remains God’

Speaking during a televised address on Thursday, Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga founder, Robert Kayanja sent his condolences to his close friend and fellow minister of the gospel Pastor Imelda Namutebi.

He said amid sorrow and pain, “our God remains God,” and that Christians need to continually take refuge in Him. Mr Kayanja said he received the sad news of Pastor Thomas’ illness, and death while at his farm in the western region of Uganda.

“It is shocking, but it is true,” he said.

“I talked to his wife pastor Imelda Namutebi Kula, and she was in tears, overwhelmed.. and their daughter, and the mother of Pastor Thomas Kula.. they were all devastated. These are testing times,” he said.

Pastor Kayanja recalled Thomas as “a strong man of God” who he knew very well, and “a child” in the [Robert Kayanja Ministries]. He said the deceased had High blood pressure (also referred to as HBP, or hypertension).

“His wife told me he had high-blood pressure. They tried to tame it, they tried to control it, they couldn’t. They rushed him to the hospital, and they tried their level best, but they couldn’t.”

Mr Kayanja urged “we are living in times where we should be prepared to meet the Lord, anytime.”

On the other hand, he quoted John 10:10, urging that the enemy is trying to steal from the Church.

“What has happened to [Liberty Worship Centre] is very very hard, and our heart goes out to them,” he said.
