KAMPALA – Throughout history the method by which Christians performed the Great Commission has been propelled by technology.
Late last year, when singer Desire Luzinda announced her decision to depart from secular music in order to pursue her calling in Christ, she immediately maintained focus on sharing scripture and words of wisdom with thousands of her fans using the internet.
On Thursday, she took it one notch higher by releasing a cover for Steve Williz’s popular worship single titled ‘Stood In The Gap.’
The worship song is an expression of gratitude – and its lyrics carefully detail God’s intervention in our lives through Christ.
“For the battles won at night I didn’t know how I made it through
All I know you stood in the gap for me
When the enemy rise against me, in judgement you condemn
Because you stood in the gap for me
So how do I thank you enough
For all the things You’ve done,” so goes the lyrics of the song
Technology is allowing Desire Luzinda to reach her audience daily with the gospel Jesus Christ.
“I have too many verses that speak to my soul and affirm His word for my calling. However, Romans 8:1 says, ‘there is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus’.” she recently told the Observer News paper.
Desire through “transition” chose to take the life of salvation seriously in 2018 after living what she described as “double-standard life”.
“Much as I tried hard to hold on to the microphone and pursue my career, deep within me, I knew I was transitioning into what the Lord had called me for; I’m a worshiper, I’m not afraid to say it. I am actually very proud,” she later told journalists in Kampala.
““I’m now switching to God. I’m switching to gospel music. I’m proud of that. I’m Born-again,” she added then.
