Last year, well-known televangelist and author John Hagee declared Jesus Christ as the vaccine for COVID-19 after recovering from the virus enough to be discharged from the hospital. However, his ministry has now moved to clarify that he believes in prayer and medicine and is “taking the vaccine.”

Spokesman for John Hagee Ministries, Mr Ari Morgenstern said: “Pastor Hagee himself is taking the vaccine.”

Morgenstern continued: “Pastor Hagee believes in both the power of prayer and modern medicine. These are not mutually exclusive.”

As this website reported earlier, Pastor John Hagee contracted the COVID-19 virus last November, and experienced strong symptoms. His son, Matt Hagee, who is now lead pastor at Cornerstone, first made the announcement during a worship service. Matt told those gathered in-person and online that his father was “diligent throughout this entire COVID pandemic to monitor his health.”

Matt explained at the time that his father’s infection was “discovered very early” and that their medical team was “under watchful care.”

John Hagee was in hospital for 15 days before recovering, and credited his recovery to the healing power of God.

“I’m on this platform speaking of the glory of God for the healing power of God. I breathe under the authority of Christ every sickness and every disease and especially the COVID thing that’s sweeping this nation.

“We have a vaccine; the name is Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. Let Him sweep through this country and heal the righteous who dare to ask for it. Heal our church members. Restore them rapidly. Let the name of Jesus Christ be exalted because He is Lord over all.”

Elsewhere in July 2020, John Hagee Ministries successfully filed a lawsuit to be allowed to hold in-person classes at Cornerstone Christian Schools despite a local government restriction.

Hagee also released a sermon in which he pegged the COVID-19 pandemic a “dress rehearsal for the New World Order.”

“Who would think we would be banned from attending church, a freedom outlined by the first amendment, as our individual rights were systematically stripped away during an enforced quarantined?” stated a description of the message.

“Our economy sunk to the worst since the Great Depression, as we watched power-hungry dictators trample our freedoms in an extended crisis intended to crush the hope of the people. Make no mistake … the Great Tribulation is coming, and it will be worse.”
