As many battled the pandemic challenges in Ggaba town earlier last month, Lake Victoria burst its shoreline, displacing thousands of families that have since sought refuge in neighboring areas. COURTESY PHOTO.
Gaba Community Church (GCC) led by its lead Pastor, Peter Kasirivu has reached out to the Muslim community affected by floods while dealing with Covid-19 challenges in Katoogo, a slum on the shores of Lake Victoria in Ggaba, Kampala.
The outreach program happened on Saturday ahead of Eid, which marks the end of Ramadan.
In a brief statement, Pastor Peter Kasirivu revealed that food items including rice were distributed to 100 Muslim families.
This year’s Eid celebrations coincide with a nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to limit the spread of coronavirus, a deadly pandemic that has so far killed thousands around the world with more than five million confirmed cases.
