KAMPALA – 92hands, a Christian Charity led by Levixone and Emmanuel Nsabaanye is mobilising Christians in and out of the country to feed thousands of people in two heavily populated slums in Uganda’s capital this Christmas.

In a statement posted online, Mr Emmanuel Nsabaanye, better known as Trinity, said in order to feed 800 families, which approximates to 4800 people, in Katanga and Kosovo, they will need like-minded individuals and community groups to support the cause.

According to Emmanuel, the move is aimed at making a difference and sharing the love of Christ among slum-dwellers, most of whom are woman and children living in temporary structures accommodating an average of 10 people.

Over the past 2 years the event has fed close to 500 families (that’s approximate to 3000 people). Further more, over 40 young volunteers engage in the day’s activities, becoming the change they want to see in their community.

Katanga Slum is a settlement located in the valley between Mulago Hospital and Makerere University, while Kosovo is located in Lungujja, a neighbourhood within Kampala.

With or without the rain, most of these places remain unhabitable, but life will still go on. Kosovo and Katanga harbour street Children, widows among others, but numbers keep on growing because of the population explosion.

“The 25th of December is the day we remember Christ’s birth. The day is celebrated each year by billions around the world

“This season is for Service, choose to feed and empower families in the worst slums of Kampala,” Emmanuel remarked.
