Preparations are ongoing for the Uganda-Israel Worship Festival expected to draw hundreds upon hundreds from various parts of the country to the Independence grounds in Kololo on May 15, 2019.

The festival, aimed to ‘Marking 71 years of Israel’s Re-birth‘, will gather several influential speakers including Pastor Dante Gebel. He is an evangelist and current Pastor of River Church in Anaheim, a city outside Los Angeles, in Southern California.

Others are Drake Kanaabo, an evangelist who serves with Redeemed of the Lord Evangelistic Church Makerere, Nhlakanipho Sihle Dlamini from Swaziland, Daniel Yehuda and the Sing Together Band from Israel.

The Festival will also be graced by Musical artist Birgitta Veksler from Israel.

Jerusalem, the capital of Israel has always been significant to Christians because of the places there where Jesus ministered and, most importantly, where he died and rose again.

Last year, a similar celebration was conducted to commemorate Israel’s 70th birthday, led by evangelist Drake Kanaabo, who heads ‘Christians for Israel Uganda’ (C4I-U), an organisation which started operation in Uganda in the year 2009.

The event was graced by Pastor Umar Mulinde, Ms Christine Joyce Dradidi Ondoa, a former Minister of Health, KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Semakula Musisi, delegates from Ethiopia, USA, Pastor Ronald Mubiru, Consulate of Israel among others.

C4I-U is dedicated to sensitizing the community about the current affairs of Israel, the biblical stance of Israel and us believers, and lastly, to pray and support the state of Israel as we draw toward the end of times.

“I got an opportunity to travel to the country of Israel for almost 20 times, from boarder to boarder. And there God is prospering them. And their God is our God,” Evangelist Drake Kanaabo said that time. “This nation of Uganda is a prophetic nation. I am only 58 years, but have seen God in every way He intervenes. From now onward, any matter concerning Uganda, the God of Israel will intervene.”

The year 2019 marks the 400th year since the first African slaves were  brought to American soil. On this significant anniversary for Israel, many believe it is important for Christians to unite above all differences to humanity.
