Ever since they took centre stage, award winning gospel a cappella group, Canaan Gents have impressed audiences with their strong vocals and constant display of excellence as they serve God.
Their work evokes the biblical allusion in Proverbs 22:29 which says; Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings.
The group is get to premier their latest video titled ‘Nkwagala’, a luganda word loosely meaning ‘I love you’ and launch their own website. This is all scheduled for September 9th at Garden City Food Court – Kampala.
Samule Lubwama, Charles Ssentongo, Samuel Backer and Geoffrey are the vocalists behind the harmonies, bass-lines, riffing, percussion and extraordinary beat-boxing that defines this a cappella group.
“As a group, we decided to come up with a love ballad while at campus because we were receiving several invitations to sing at weddings. We worked it out and then our friend Benezeri, who was also at Uganda Christian University (UCU), come through with a rap stanza.” Lubwama, the group vision bearer told this website.
Making of the video: “We had to do things just to be in shape for this video. Go on a diet, grow beards – just know it has been an interesting experience.” Lubwama said.
“Nkwagala” was produced from Blacksmith studio and the video worked on by Beohrtsbeard.
Lubwama, who hopes this video will inspire and help ignite love in relationships says, “There are different ways people fall in love and I have come to learn that their are no rules to love. Once you find the right person, be it rich or poor – love will prevail.”
