During the temptation of Jesus, the devil told Jesus that the earth was handed over to him, and Jesus didn’t contest.
When Adam disobeyed God in the garden in Genesis, he handed over the authority to rule the earth to Lucifer.
Luke 4:5-6
“And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.”
Unlike man, God’s will and plan is perfect and it doesn’t change. The end result of His ways is always peace (prosperity), joy and righteousness.
Though man took a detour because of the fall, God’s agenda for Adam’s creation never changed.
The Master of events never plays catch up with the devil. He already had it all worked out even before Adam and Eve messed up.
It’s the reason the scriptures says that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the earth (Revelation 13:8).
God had already planned for man’s come back before He even fell and this was finally fulfilled in Christ.
On the cross, the seed of the woman, Jesus Christ decimated Satan and took all he stole from man in the garden.
Colossians 2:14-15
“having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of legal demands [which were in force] against us and which were hostile to us. And this certificate He has set aside and completely removed by nailing it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross.”
Jesus boldly declared,
Revelation 1:18
“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
Man is no longer a slave of the devil if he choses Christ Jesus as his Lord.
Jesus further affirms this position when commissioning the disciples.
Mathew 28:17-20
“When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’
Much as the devil is the god of this world ( the system) but he is no longer the god of the earth.
Satan’s dominion has been broken and man is back in business.
We are joint heirs with Christ. We rule and reign with Him (Revelation 1:5-6). Whatsoever is of Christ is ours also.
Take authority and bring God’s kingdom in your environment!
