Mattuga, WAKISO – The good news of salvation through Jesus Christ has been shared with students from 24 (twenty four) Secondary Schools in Wakiso district – some predominantly Islamic – during an outreach organised by Uganda For Evangelism Ministries.
In a report shared online on Sunday, Mr Samuel Kasigwa, the founder and vision bearer of Uganda For Evangelism Ministries revealed that they were inspired to start the gospel movement because “the only way the youth can be preserved is by the word of God.”
“By the grace of God one of the key evangelical activity we are doing in Mattuga is reaching out to the youth in secondary schools and institutions of higher learning with the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” he said.
“We were gladly received in all schools regardless of their religious affiliation. Thousands of the youth accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour,” he added.
As this website reported last month, the crusade kicked off 19th November in Mattuga town, with Pastors, Evangelists and Security officers in Mattuga finalising planning for the initiative.
“We are going to take the gospel to Schools, Police, Prisons, Boda Bodas, the market place and Hospitals,” Pastor Samuel Kasigwa said at that time.
One of the schools graced by the evangelical team was Kyaddondo Secondary School which was founded in January 2002 by teachers of Kawempe Muslim Secondary School to provide their expertise to the students in the locality and a nation as a whole.
Located 2.5 Kilometre along Wakiso road from Matugga Trading Centre, which is 16 Kilometre from Kampala on Gulu-Bombo highway, the school admits students of all faiths.
“I rejoiced and I was glad when I saw these young girls of Christ the King secondary school, a Catholic founded institution get born again, fully committing their lives to Jesus Christ. Lord keep them in your right land until that day,” Mr Samuel Kasigwa said in the report.
“The Gospel of Jesus Christ was gladly received at Brixton SS a predominantly Moslem school in Mattuga town. Many gave their lives to Jesus Christ,” he added. “Twenty four schools were reached in five days last week with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Other schools visited include Buwambo SS and Lady Valeria Vacational and Business College, which is one of the biggest vocational training institute in the country. The institution’s main aim is to foster collaboration between private training institutions and to improve, not just the standards of the training provided, but also its relevance for the actual employment market.
