Billboards with thought-provoking Christ-centered messages from the bible are finding their way on highways across Uganda.
The billboards are intended to showcase messages ”from God” and inspire motorists, bike riders and pedestrians nationwide, according to media information obtained by Uganda Christian News.
The messages are intended to remind people of God’s Love and His promises to us. They include the text: “I am the way, the truth and the life,” “You must be Born-again,” “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved,” “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.” and “But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Uganda is only the 81st largest country by area in the world, but it has the 36th largest population. According to official data, the largest city in Uganda is Kampala, with a population of 1,353,189 people.
This number often increases to over four million during working days.
Paul Jenkinson, one of the key players behind the organisation that owns most of these gospel billboards in Kampala, revealed that the Lord opened the door to bring hopebytheroadside to Uganda and that they are delighted to start the advertising campaign within the nation.
“We currently have a 12meter x 8 meter billboard on the main road leading to the international airport which is situated directly outside the UN base and another 2 smaller billboards on the road linking central and eastern Uganda. We have plans for 2 more on the Uganda/Kenya border,” he said.
They estimate hundreds of thousands of vehicles pass these billboards daily.
Thats potentially in excess of 15million views every year.
