In his message to House of Prayer Ministries vision bearer Aloysius Bugingo this week, gospel musician Wilson Bugembe urged the husband to Teddy Bugingo to pick a leaf from renown healing evangelist Benny Hinn who reconciled with his wife after being divorced for almost two years.
Suzanne Hinn separated from Benny Hinn on Jan. 26, 2010 and filed a petition for divorce in Orange County Superior Court on Feb. 1, citing irreconcilable differences, court papers revealed.
By February 2010, the two were officially divorced.
News of their separation was received with a lot of criticism in religious circles. For the Pentecostal church, this was yet another blow for failing to stick to doctrine. At the same time, Benny denied any affair.
It wasn’t until late 2011 that the couple confronted their divorce decision. They chose reconciliation henceforth reviving their 30-year marriage.
Speaking to Charisma News, Benny Hinn explained how ministry changed after reconciling with his wife.
“I think Suzanne’s and my healing has just had some impact. I go through my situation. My marriage was a whole lot worse than I can even talk about. And I say to people, “You think yours is bad. Mine is probably way worse than you could ever imagine. Again, God healed Sue and I. And if God healed us, He’ll heal you.” he told the news outlet.
Benny explained how his ministry schedule affected his marriage.
“In my case, it was family and the stress of ministry and being too busy. I didn’t pay attention to Suzanne’s pain. That’s what caused our problem. And then Suzanne having to struggle with what was happening to our family,” he added.
With more focus on ministering to marrieds now, Benny admitted: “I never dealt with that part of ministry in the past with couples and homes and families. I identify with them. They identify with me. It moved me so deeply to tears.”
Prayers, repentance, forgiveness and personal healing made the Hinns’ marriage restoration possible, according to CBN News.
