While addressing Christians on Sunday at Praise Cathedral Church located in Ntinda, Kampala, Pr Edith Kamese used Genesis 43:30 as an illustration of how we can survive in a painful situation.
Under the sermon title “Fruitfulness in a painful place”, the married mother of five said that much as Joseph was in prison, he survived the painful place and rose to power.
“Joseph’s story is a phenomenal illustration of how to survive the painful places when you’ve been invited into greatness and the favor of God is resting on your life. Some of you are going through the worst at your place of work, it is painful, but you are going to be fruitful their,” she preached.
“When God blesses your life, some people will begin to hate you because of that favor. Favor can take you to paces where your career can not take you. Favor will place before you provisions that no man can bring at your table. Yes, trouble and attacks will come your way but God will bring you through,” she continued.
“Being hated is a part of being blessed. It is just that God has chosen to set you apart and that makes some uncomfortable. Whenever God begins to bless your life, some will hate you simply because of your favor. It’s easy to become confused. You think others would be happy for you, especially those close to you. Unfortunately, often times, this is not the case,” Pr Edith stated.
She encouraged the church saying that anyone blessed can be hated a long time before they figure out what’s really going on. When the enemy understands God is about to elevate you and take you places, the fight is on, “Rest assured something big is about to happen in your life,”
“Don’t fix your eyes on those hardships. You are simply moving through. There is no battle that you are going to fight, and God is not in it. If what you’re looking at does not look like what God promised, stand, worship, press, be faithful, knowing you are about to be fruitful in a painful place!” she said in conclusion.
Pr Edith later anointed everyone in the congregation, ending her sermon further with a powerful moment of prayer.
