In a deep and strongly felt sermon to commission St. Paul’s Kyeitembe Church of Uganda, West Ankole Diocese in Bushenyi, the Church of Uganda Archbishop Stanley Ntagali over the weekend underlined Uganda’s unity and diversity, saying that the poison of corruption and egocentrism have no place in the country.
The Archbishop, in the company of the Bishop of West Ankole Diocese the Rt Rev Yona Mwesigwa Katonene urged that what Ugandans need is accountability, problem solving is the essence of what leaders exist to do.
He insisted that leaders must be courageous enough to tackle all issues head-on before circumstances force our hand.
“We have a lot of hope in the 10th Parliament and remember that this time around, Ugandans have learnt …. Do not go to Parliament and start thinking of increasing your salaries. See how you can find solutions to the challenges such as poverty, poor health, which are affecting the youth and women,” he stated in part
Additionally, he criticized government for introducing sex education and asked the Ministry of Education to review all the sex education programmes before it can cause moral decadency in society.
