During his visit to Phaneero Ministries at UMA Multipurpose Hall, Lugogo – Kampala, popular televangelist Andrew Wommack expressed his join to thousands that showed up for the meeting, noting that it was an opportunity for him to meet the ministry founding Pastor Grace Lubega, who he said loves, and understands the grace of God.

His visit to the popular and fast going Christian fellowship on Saturday was one of several Gospel Truth Seminars the American preacher has had in Uganda since 2nd, June 2017.

“I never has the opportunity of meeting Apostle Grace before but, I can tell that he is a man that loves and understands the grace of God. I can tell that you love Jesus by the songs that you sing, by the way you worship the Lord. It is a privilege to be here. I am really blessed to do this.” He said.

“I know that you have already heard the Grace of God. Pastor Grace has told me you understand the message here and that I am free to share anything. I appreciate that. There are not so many places I can go and they understand that.” He further stated.

Phaneero Ministries in May released a media statement intended to address accusations against the gospel they preached.

These claims, according to the ministry, were “very deliberate falsehoods, and calculated misrepresentations framed by individuals that we greatly respected and honoured for their highly placed stations in the religious circles.”

With most critics defining their gospel as “miss leading and driven out of context”, Apostle Grace Lubega said he had never been approached to be admonished despite his willingness to listen and his persistent open invitations to these individuals for productive dialogue.

“We do not exalt ourselves above the Almighty God. Yes the scriptures teach that we are partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4), but that does not in any way mean that we stand in the stead of Jehovah God. We would not be worshiping him if we didn’t extol his majesty.” Phaneero Ministries said.

Addressing the meeting, Andrew Wommack started by reviewing two of his books, ‘Living in God’s best’ and ‘Living in the balance of Grace and faith.’ He said the reason people do not experience God’s best is because they settle for less.

“If you get to a place where; I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired – I’m not going to live like this anymore – and you want God’s best, that is the first step towards experiencing it.” He said.

“Do you know that the body of Christ can be separated into two groups? Those that Preach grace – which has been a minority, but as Pastor Grace was saying, there is a grace revolution happening in the body of Christ. So grace is becoming really popular and people are beginning to understand it. But do you know that Grace has to be balanced with faith?

“If you take grace by its self and say; it is all up to God. He loves me independent of anything I do – that is true – but you need also respond to God’s grace. Ap Paul said; other people frustrate the Grace of God. He [Paul] said; I received the Grace of God and by the Grace of God, I’m who I am, but I labored more abundantly than all of them.

“So, just because you understand the grace of God, doesn’t mean that it takes away your responsibility to Know God, to study His word and do what it says. There is a balance between Grace and faith. Very few people keep this in balance. Bible says in Ephesians 2:8; For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. You are not saved by faith alone or grace alone. You are saved by Grace (the God part) and faith (which is your positive response to God’s grace.)” He stated.

Sharing his testimony, The 68-year-old said he got born again in 1958, however at that time, he because religious.

“I thought God loved me and would answer my prayers based on how God I was. I tried to be as good as I could be. I have never said any word of profanity all my 68 years. I have never taken a drink of liquor, smoked a cigarette – I lived a separated Holy life and I thought God would love me and answer my prayers based on my Goodness – for 10 years that is what I thought.”

“But on March 23, 1968 – it is a long story but, God showed up. I was caught up in the glory of God and when in His presence, I realized that all my goodness, my self works were like a filthy rug compared to the Holiness and goodness of God. I saw my self as a total hypocrite, religions Pharisee. When I saw how unholy I was, I expected God to kill me…My sins were sins of the heart.” He said, quoting Mathew 5:28.

“Instead of the wrath of God, I experienced the supernatural love of God. I felt it go through me. I knew that God Loved me and it has nothing to do with my goodness. For the first time I saw that all my goodness was not good. I realized I didn’t deserve anything from God,that is when the Glory of God came upon me. For four and half months, I was caught up in the Glory of God.”

He says God started teaching him through His word things about grace and why He [God] loved him.

“If I hadn’t got hold of the word of God, that explained to me why God loves me by Grace, that experience I had would not have lasted for this 50 years. ” He said.
