While addressing staff on Wednesday, Allen Kagina, the executive director of Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), quoted Deuteronomy 7:6 which says; “For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession”
The 55-year-old had joined the rest of the country to celebrate international Women’s Day, which run under the theme ‘Women empowerment in the changing world of work’
Kajina, a born again Christian, challenged women to be relevant in every aspect, and make their presence known wheresoever they are.
“I want to encourage a trend to make your presence known, to celebrate, to laugh and to be women. Be the treasure God has made you to be,” Kagina said.
Elsewhere, His Excellency the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was the chief guest at Dokolo Technical School in Dokolo district where multitudes gathered to mark the Women’s day celebrations.
