Well, Bishop Godfrey Mawa, President of Commission International Inc. seems to be graduating from Singlehood.
The evangelist proclaimed his love to the entire city as he proposed to renowned gospel singer Hawa Musa A’Baale in the middle of a busy junction at Wandegeya, a neighborhood within the city of Kampala, Uganda last week.
As most girls were moved by the act, some men had mixed emotions; with some praising him for being lionhearted, while others found no need for creating ‘unwanted’ attention.
We got time with Hawa and this is how the events transpired.
“I am grateful to God. The proposal took me by surprise. I never expected it since it’s a few weeks to our introduction.” Hawa told our reporter, with excitement so visible even to the blind.
“It’s the best moment I have had so far, though it made me freeze for a moment, and tongue tied,” she continued
“Our relationship was based on friendship values,” she stated “It just grew to love with time, but I am glad it happened for it will always be a day to remember for the rest of my life, and I will pass it on to my grand children,”
Trying her level best to put her feelings to appropriate description, Hawa says that the surprise brought her heart swelling with emotions.
Bishop Mawa, who is also CEO of Embassy Finance Credit Union Patron of Afrikidz Foundation took to social media thanking God, Police, all pastors and friends who helped him organize the marriage proposal.
“I am so very thankful to God, Police and Ap. Michael Kimuli, Pastor Wilson Bugembe, Ap. Franklin Mondo Mugisha, all pastors and friends who helped me, organize my first ever marriage proposal to the love of my life, Hawa Musa Abaale. Banange, I love this girl crazily!!!,” he wote
Further sharing the experience with encouragement to her fans, Hawa says that, “what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has perceived is what the Lord has prepared for those who love Him,”
“Never put trust in beauty, Family background,education level much as they are necessarily. Trust in God, for good men come from Him,”
Hawa additionally revealed that she got to know that the team, led by Pr Wilson Bugembe, Ap. Michael Kimuli, Pr Franklin Mondo Mugisha among others contacted the traffic officers at Wandegeya, before they staged the surprise right at the heart of the busy road Junction.
Currently under Bantu Productions Studio, Hawa converted from Islam to Christianity much to the dissatisfaction of everyone around her.
The female gospel singer has released songs like Yesu Ye Answer, Nina, Aliba Omwesigwa and Papa.
