Speaking of unusual cases, the whys and the hows we have in life, Angella Katatumba grew up with seven brothers. Any one in her feet would want to ask the creator, “God why?”

We probably ask ourselves questions like these quite often. But consciously we rarely do. We’re so busy living our lives, we rarely stop and wonder WHY?

In an interview with The Observer’s Johnson Grace Maganja this week, the singer says that she thanks God so much for growing up with boys because they shaped her character.

“They made me fearless, assertive, aggressive, and feel like I could do anything. They made me think like boys. So, I grew up a total tomboy, and it is this extra confidence I got that makes me feel like I can do and accomplish anything,”

“I have an older sister who lives in Atlanta, Georgia. I mainly grew up in a male- dominated environment where it was full of fighting and competing with the boys. I thank God so much for growing up with these boys because they shaped my character,” she further told Grace.

Angella Katatumba is a Ugandan singer and songwriter. She is the daughter of H. E. Boney Katatumba, a Ugandan consul to Pakistan.

She was previously known for her good voice and music, but many got to know how big her heart is with continued involvement in humanitarian work.

In February 2016, she donated Shs 10m to Mulago hospital to help buy a phototherapy machine and syringe pump for the special care unit. She has been nominated for the CEO Global awards in Johannesburg, South Africa slated for July. She has also been recognised for the “For you Gulu” project.

Angella says that being a role model, most of her songs are inspirational and have a positive meaning, changing the society for the better. “When you look at songs like “For you Gulu” and let’s go green, these are songs that will forever live on because they’ve changed the society in a positive way,”

So, putting the dots together, God really does have a purpose behind every unique experience you are going through!
