The King of Busoga, His Royal Highness William Wilberforce Nadiope IV has expressed support for Church planting in eastern Uganda, and endorsed the activities of Pastors Discipleship Network (PDN), a nonprofit organization that equips Church leaders to study, practice, and teach God’s Word accurately.
On Saturday, he graced the official opening of New Life Church and School in Buwaida zone, Buyende District, Uganda. The celebrations drew over 2,000 residents, including cultural leaders, government officials and clergy.
“A dream of a Church plant and a high quality school among the Buyende people,” Dr. Richmond Wandera, the host, and founder of Pastors Discipleship Network said in a release.
Adding: “His Royal Highness, the King of Busoga graced our occasion with his presence, endorsed our work, and demonstrated incredible care for his people.”
Dr. Wandera said that New Life School is a community school that seeks to provide quality education to vulnerable children in dignifying environment adding that the vision of the school is to train a generation of Godly leaders who will serve nations.
The Kyabazinga implored leaders in Buyende to support the school projects in order to uplift the academic performances in the district. His Majesty also broke the ground for the construction of a multimillion upper sections stored building which includes primary and secondary.
The Kyabanzinga has since his coronation ceremony in 2014 been vocal about the Christian faith.
Last year, he issued a statement urging Ugandans to “follow the teachings of Jesus Christ” in their daily lives and “work for harmony and unity in society and the progress of our country.”
“Jesus assured man that he can reach God through peace, love, compassion and tolerance. These values have the power to transform our lives and bring hope in troubled times,” he said then.
Pastors Discipleship Network (PDN), has over the past years successfully trained and equipped over 4,800 pastors in East Africa – providing theological education by gifted facilitators, securing and delivering high-quality ministry resources to church leaders.
The organization also does follow up on the Church leaders after training, and builds networks for them to facilitate accountability and fellowship.
Present at the ceremony was the Issabalangira of Busoga Samuel Zirabamuzale Menhya, Busoga Kingdom’s Speaker George Mutyabule, Busoga Kingdom’s Permanent Secretary Godfrey Samanya Sajjabi, Kingdom Ministers, Members of Parliament, Buyende L.C 5 Michael Kanaku, Buyende RDC and other leaders among others.
