Phaneroo worship team was over the weekend announced ‘Best Pentecostal Choir of the Year’, during celebrations to recognize and award individuals, media platforms and faith-based institutions or companies that are making a tremendous impact on the African continent through Christian music, among other things.
The worship team attached to Phaneroo Ministries International emerged winner at the Royal Gospel Music Awards (RGMA) which happened Saturday night at University Community Fellowship (UCF) in Makerere – Kampala.
Other choirs nominated in the same category included Worship Harvest Worship Team, Miracle Centre Cathedral Worship Team, Watoto Worship Team, Kasanga Miracle Center Worship Team and Glory of Christ Worship Team.
“We are an all Christian celebration of Gospel Arts. We support, nurture and grow Christian talent through different initiatives and the awards are just a crown on the different projects we do underground,” King Wesley, the awards’ visionary said earlier when launching the awards.
Elsewhere, legendary gospel minister and Pastor, Wilson Bugembe, fast-rising worship ministers Godfrey Kwezi, Gabie Ntate and longtime Christian music staple Florence Rukundo were among the winners in various categories.
Gospel star, Levixone scooped three (3) awards including the Humantarian Award for his work with charity organization 92Hands, Afrobeat Artist Of The Year and Afrobeat Song Of The Year, for his single ‘Enjoy Yo Blessing.’
Florence Rukundo, was honored with the Artist Of The Decade award. Her songs include Bwaka, released in 2006, Ssuubi Lyange released in 2005, Omununuzi, among others.
