Founder and senior pastor of Kansanga Miracle Center Church, Isaac Kyobe Kiwewesi has encouraged Christians not to let the prevailing challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic suffocate their wholehearted devotion to God.

Pastor Kiwewesi explained that “God is our source of strength,” and that the Church should choose to believe His word, no matter how tough life gets.

“The time we spend with God changes our perspective about life. You will find that in the olden days, the great men in the Bible who walked closely with God, always had an answer for every season,” he said.

This was during the ‘Never Give Up’ program hosted on Rest TV Uganda.

The Pastor stated that in acknowledging God’s presence in our lives and staying connected with Him, one’s strength and mind in renewed.

“The bible says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13): Meaning without Him, we cannot do anything,” Pastor Kiwewesi said.

He alluded to the story of Caleb in the Bible which appears in the book of Numbers 13–14.

In this, Moses sent spies, one from each of the twelve tribes of Israel, into Canaan to scout the territory. Among them were Joshua and Caleb. All the spies agreed on the richness of the land, but ten of them said Israel could not conquer it because its inhabitants were too powerful and their cities were like fortresses. Only Caleb and Joshua dared to contradict them.

Pastor Kiwewesi urged that Caleb knew God would supply him with all he needed to complete that mission. He explained that Christians can learn from Caleb that their own weakness brings an inpouring of God’s strength.

“How we perceive things is very crucial in this season… Caleb knew that God could and would help him even though, by human standards, they were like “grasshoppers” before the giants.” he said.

“We might all face the same challenges but perceive, and respond to them differently,” Pastor Kiwewesi continued.

Pastor Kiwewesi urged that when one departs from God, he/she becomes inadequate in life.

Others present during the TV show included Dr Livingstone Banjagala, Pr. Roland Mwesigwa and Pr. Wilson Bugembe.
