Pastor Robert Kayanja’s son has encouraged youth not to conform to the pattern of this world, adding that none the sinful acts they crave for will ultimately satisfy.
Speaking during a youth gathering at Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga recently, Robert Kayanja Jr. urged that sin promises fulfillment, and yet it results into nothing but destruction.
It is upon this background that the preacher implored youth to embrace Christ ‘in whom they can find complete fulfillment.’
Robert Kayanja Jr. urged that many youth are left broken, shuttered and completely destroyed in their pursuit for fulfillment in the wrong places.
“You may find a certain amount of enjoyment and even contentment in sin for a while, but in the end it will leave you empty, longing for something more,” he said.
“The reason I made mistakes is so you don’t have to make them. Sex won’t make you happy. It won’t fulfill you,” he told the youth.
He urged youth to be vigilant emphasizing that God is pleased by one making effectual progress towards living a life of obedience.
“Being a Christian is not what you do here at Church, but what you do when you go home and close the door behind you,” Robert Kayanja Jr. said.
As much as the Devil repeats the same old tricks to entices youth into sin, he explained that many are still victims of the evil.
“When it comes to [issues about] life, I’ll never tell you something that I haven’t been through. The people around you matter. All of you are the product of the five friends you have,” he said.
“If the devil has bound one of your friends, it is very easy for them to bind you, and that was me. Half of the issues I got into were because I wanted to make somebody else happy,” he said.
“These is a saying that ‘misery likes company,’ so does sin. It does not do well by itself,” he said.
Junior, who confessed to having struggled with suicidal thoughts, among other things young Christians go through at one point in life, urged listeners to have faith and know more about their identity in Christ. “If you don’t learn your identity, someone else will give it to you,” he said.
“God is not going to break into your heart, your mind and fix things. He is only going to come in when you let Him in,” he said.
“Someone might have abused you. You started drinking. Drinking isn’t the problem. The problem is that you were abuse, and what you’re using to cover it up is drinking. Often times in life, we use very stupid little things to cover up the conflict, yet the person who can fix the actual issue is Jesus. There are things you can’t deal with on your own, get help,” he said.
He also explained that God has an assignment for everyone on earth. To accomplish it, “you are going to need God’s help,” he said.
