The way you start a new year determines how you end it, Bishop David Livingstone Kiganda of Christianity Focus Centre, Mengo – Kisenyi has said.

Speaking to the media ahead of the 14th Annual National Prayer gathering set for 31st December, 2019, Bishop Kiganda emphasized that it’s only wise to start off a year with God.

The prayer gathering will be conducted under the theme “God will go before you and make the crooked places straight in 2020” inspired by Isaiah 45:2. This will be at Old Kampala Secondary School play grounds.

While a startling big number of  people fancy starting the New Year and ending the old one in a ‘happening joint’ like bars and discotheques, Bishop Kiganda believes is so uplifting to know that there is a good number that have made it a tradition to end the old and start the new in prayer.

Speakers expected at the gathering include: Ap Dr Michael Kimuli (Uganda), Ap Dr John Bungo (Uganda), Bp Samuel Mutyaba (USA), Prophet Seth King Brobbey (Ghana), Prophetess Caroline Roberts (UK) among others.

Kiganda says he conceived a vision of engaging Ugandans in a clear and safe festival in form of The Annual National Prayer Day and Night earlier in 2001 .

His desire is that citizens should join the celebration through worship, praise and thanksgiving to God who has enabled them complete the year safely. Prayers used to be conducted at Christianity Focus Centre Church however, as time passed, the space could not accommodate the crowd.

“We’re very sure that God will manifest in your life as you crossover to 2020 on 31st Dec 2019,” he said.

“Come we pray and worship together as we usher in a new year with praises and fine messages from great servants of God hosted by me and my wife Pr. Cindy Kiganda,” he added.
