Gospel musician Patricia Mujungu has urged Christians to respond to what they perceive as ‘delays’ with faith and patience, not doubt.
She took to her official social media platform on Tuesday to extend words of wisdom to believers today who often want God to choose “now” as the timing.
According to her, delays, even long ones, do not mean that God doesn’t not care or that He is incapable of dealing with what one might be going through.
“He is so aware about His promises to us. He is just patient. There’s always a process to every promise and His plan is we be perfected to match when His promises are fulfilled,” she said.
As challenging as waiting can be, Patricia observed that many Christians need to grow in the area of trusting God instead of focusing on the “when” question, thus missing joy and peace.
“God is not slow,” the ‘He is here’ singer wrote, quoting 2 Peter 3:8-9.
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
Patricia noted that ‘with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day’, adding that she is fully convinced that God doesn’t want us to call it quits.
“Understand that God doesn’t view time as human beings do, He stands above time, and age appears no longer than a short day,” she said. “God can never be slow.”
“In the process [of waiting], [the] understanding of who He is comes along, repentance, change so that we may be ready to receive both the earthly promises and the heavenly – eternal life,” she concluded.
Patricia Mujungu’s remarks were received with approval, with one of her fans noting that as Christians wait for God to act on both His earthly and heavenly promises, they should heed the words of James, who says one must “be patient” like a farmer who knows that his seeds must lie dormant beneath the ground for a time before God transforms them into a joyful harvest (James 5:7).
