In order to truly transform the nation, the seven facets of society including family, education, government, business, media, arts and entertainment, among others, must be reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ, a USA Pastor told leaders at the 21st National Prayer Breakfast organised Tuesday at The Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala.
Pastor Johnny Enlow, author of ‘The Seven Mountain Prophecy,’ and co-senior pastor of Daystar Church in Atlanta, Georgia, used his speech at the prayer breakfast to disregard what he called misleading narratives about popular bible phrase: “The Kingdom of God is near!”
According to Pastor Johnny, when Jesus uttered the above statement found in Mark 1:15, he was pointing to the coming of God’s authority and power.
In Aramaic, the primary language of Jesus, the word ‘malku’ meaning ‘Kingdom’ pointed not so much to the place of royal rule as to that rule itself, the preacher told listeners.
Pastor Johnny Enlow stated that spearing the real truth about Mark 1:15 is part of what will begin to inspire the next generation to walk with character, and showcase the leadership of the kingdom of God.
“What was the joy that the Holy Spirit received upon seeing Jesus? It was joy that His Kingdom was about to be revealed; His system, and way of doing things – not just people getting saved,” Pastor Johnny said.
“Jesus came to restore what was lost, which is authority to manifest the kingdom of God in the seven mountains of influence including family, education, government, business, media, arts and entertainment etc,” he explained, quoting Matthew 4:16 which says: “the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”
“Repent is to change the way you think, the invisible Kingdom of heaven is here. The invisible world rules in all matters of life. Represent Jesus wheresoever you are called to be. He has practical solutions to society. The King wants his kingdom to be revealed here on earth. We are receiving an unshakable kingdom. We are not just here to get souls saved,” he said.
“We each have an assignment. If you are primarily driven to think entrepreneurial thoughts, it doesn’t mean you are canal, it doesn’t mean you are less than the pastor. It just means that is your mountain. It is your call. Show the Kingdom of God in that mountain of economics or bussiness,” he said.
The 21st National Prayer Breakfast was conducted under the theme ‘The Power of Character in Leadership’ inspired by Titus 2:7-8. The event was graced by His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his wife Janet K. Museveni.
The prayer breakfast also drew clergy from various faith groups in Uganda, political parties, high profile representatives from all branches of government, members of the diplomatic corps, the business community, national and international guests.
‘On earth, as it is in heaven’
Pastor Johnny Enlow urged Ugandan leaders to let God’s heart for education, governance, family, arts and entertainment be manifested in the country.
He wondered why many individuals in the world today are trying to get to the mountain of religion, “while we try to abandon the other mountains.”
“Everyone one of you has a pulpit where you can change and have an impact on society,” he said. “It surely might look like this [microphone and stand], but for any chance that you get to create an impact, use it.”
He did not leave the podium before addressing the topic of salvation.
“It doesn’t matter whether you consider yourself an atheist, or subscribe to any other religion, God says; you are in my Image… Being born again is recognizing your original birth. You were born to testify of Him,” he said
“The lord said, lets change that narrative. Les embrace a narrative of seeing the entire nation walk to the light of the son of God – Before original sin, was original glory and design. We started from the father’s heart. We were made in His image, and released as lights here on planet earth,” he said.
