Full Speech
Tonight, we sing our national anthem as a prayer.
Our brothers and sisters in the Lord, I ask you to join me, to welcome our beloved guests, Pastor and mama Adeboye and their whole delegation.
There is not always much we can do to show our gratitude to God, or our gratitude to Pastor and mama Adeboye and their delegation for travelling all the way from our sister country Nigeria, to come and be with us. But we can surely clap so that everybody hears that we are grateful to God and to our guests. Thank you.
This is our time of visitation. And I believe Pastor Adeboye is [an] Elijah of our time, and he has a message for this season. That is why we chose to be on this venue this evening.
Being here tonight, and the time they have been here, it is significant. On these grounds, at 12 o’clock, midnight, on the 9th of October 1962, the Union Jack British flag was lowered and the Uganda flag was hosted to signify and celebrate our independence. As you all know, the British flag had flown over Uganda for 68 years. Now, on these grounds, we celebrate major national events as you know, and some of our heroes, have been laid to rest right here in these gardens.
I therefore believe that our being here tonight is divine, and it is an appointed time. Psalm 102:13 says; You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her.
We believe the appointed time for Uganda has come, and my prayer tonight is that we will each have an encounter with our divine God. That you will get a divine encounter each one of you individually – and you will remember this was the season for all of us. For it is, I believe, our appointed time.
I had very few words tonight, it is not my time to speak. I just wanted to welcome our guests who are here with us. And my prayer is that each one of us will truly have a reason to go home praising the Lord our God.
Thank you , and God bless you all.
