The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Rebecca A. Kadaga has thanked God for enabling her return to Parliament in good health after several weeks of sick leave.

Kadaga appeared in parliament at about 11 am on Thursday to launch a website for the upcoming 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, which is expected to facilitate interaction among 1000 delegates.

Her arrival was complimented with Christian hymns as Parliament staff sang songs of praise to the Lord.

“Feeling blessed,” she remarked on social media.

As earlier reported by this website, Speaker Kadaga was first admitted at Nakasero hospital last month upon returning from a hectic ten-day working visit to the USA and Morocco. She was later referred to Nairobi, Kenya for further treatment

The Observer Newspaper reported there were two major prayers held in her Kamuli district constituency after she was flown to Nairobi. After her recovery, Kadaga rang her mother in Kamuli reassuring her that she would be home soon.

Kadaga later sent a statement accompanied by a visual recording thanking the press and all Ugandans of goodwill for praying for her recovery. She, however, criticised social media where false reports were published suggesting that her health had deteriorated, necessitating further referral to Spain.
