The senior pastor and founder of Jubilee Christian Life Church International, Ap. Dr. Wilson Evans Kulaba has said to strengthen faith, Christian leaders need to draw people’s attention not to the wisdom of men, but to the power of God and his Word.
The Pastor of over 27 years explained on Sunday that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ gives believers confidence and hope, adding that it is a “revolution that the devil cannot over turn.”
“While we are moving in this world, pursuing our careers, building families, building ministries, raising churches, let us not forget why Jesus died. Let us not forget why He was buried. Let us not forget why He rose again,” Apostle Kulaba said, revealing how God wants the Church to have a personal relationship with Him.
“Our faith should not be in things, our faith should be in God. Our faith should not be in a man, in a prophet, in a miracle worker, our faith should be in God Himself,” he added.
Apostle Kulaba further used his Easter sermon to encourage believers to read the bible. He said one can only get better in life basing on what they know.
Illustrating how Jesus’ birth, death and final resurrection were vividly portrayed in scripture even before they happened, Apostle Kulaba said whatsoever a Christian does must be hinged and directed by the Word of God.
Jesus was able to fully carry out his assignment, because he drew his confidence and authority from scripture, Apostle Kulaba said.
He then quoted 1 Corinthians 15:3-6 which says;
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.
“There are many people who have wanted to trash the evidence of the resurrection, but it is impossible. When God does something, he lives the evidence. There is a trail that; it is God who did it,” Apostle Kulaba continued. “The story of the resurrection is not just a theory. It’s truth. It happened.”
Apostle Kulaba said the hope of resurrection is not a mere sentiment offered at the grave side when people die.
“The hope of the resurrection is hope built on certainty.” he explained.
Adding: “Jesus’ resurrection was to give you the confidence that you can live also.”
