A well established high school has received applause from the christian community following its decision to create space where students can gather for prayer activity and also share the word of God.
The York Castle High School located in Brown’s Town in Jamaica opened up its beautifully spaced ‘prayer gardens’ within the institution’s compound located on over 20 acres of land.
The student body is culturally diverse with a racial composition that includes: Africans, Mixed Races, Chinese and Indians.
The school hopes that students will use the gardens to replenish their spiritual body.
“Every School should adopt this powerful example. God you are such an awesome God to open this door to this generation. They are absolutely in need of how to pray, love you and give thanks,” one social media user under account name Cecily Reid remarked.
“This is so lovely. I am feeling good to see this school leading the student the right way. Hope other schools motivated and do the same. Lord please continue to cover the school’s children. Keep them focused and lead them on the right track,” another user said.
On the school website, the administration says, “we believe that a familiar nurturing and supportive learning environment provides us with better opportunities to unleash and showcase the true potential of our students.”
At both the academic and co-curricular levels, York Castle High is regarded as one of the top performing schools in Jamaica.
