Award winning gospel music singer, Pompi from Zambia is still inspiring many lives in the country since his arrival earlier this week.
The musician, artist, entrepreneur and CEO of Lota House most popular for such songs that include “Giant Killer,” performed alongside world renowned Zimbabwean vocalist and instrumentalist Oliver Mtukudzi who headlined the Lock Down concert at Imperial Royale Hotel yesterday.
The same event saw Kenya’s Kanjii Mbugua as well as comedians Anne Kansiime and Pablo hosting the event.
Right before the event, Pompi spent the earlier part of the day speaking to those that gathered at Mavuno Church Kabalagala during the Young and Fearless Summit.
Several pastors from the church were commissioned during the summit.
Where some thought the singer would depart soon after the Lock Down Concert, UG Christian News has learnt that he is till around and will minister together with Kanjii tomorrow (Sunday, 2nd May 2017) Mavuno Church Kampala which gathers at Kampala Parent’s School, Naguru.
This will be during their service which starts 10:00 am to 12: 00 pm.
About Pompi
Born Chaka Nyathando, Pompi is a gospel musician from Zambia who has been active in the music industry for over a decade. He was this year crowned as South African Artist of the year at the 2017 Groove Awards which are hosted in Kenya.
Above many Zambian musicians, Pompi has had the opportunity to be recognized on an all African level, with videos that have played on commercial channels such as MTV Base and Channel O.
Through the U.S. State Department, he went on a tour of the U.S. to study how music is used for civil engagement. He and 20 other media personalities selected from 20 countries were issued with IVLP (International Visitors’ Leadership Program) certificates. The tour saw him featuring in the Rolling Stones magazine with a four page article on his tour to that country.
