Mr Stephen Kimbowa and Joyce Mirembe, now Joyce Kimbowa got marriage at Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga on Thursday.

Every woman pictures walking down the aisle at her wedding, but when her turn came, Joyce Mirembe, now Joyce Kimbowa, wife to Stephen Kimbowa did not let her past insecurities of using a wheelchair suffocate her ‘miracle day’.

Although born with a bone disability, Joyce danced immensely from her wheelchair, and when she laughed, the sound of her voice lit up the whole Miracle Centre Cathedral making the entire function vibrant and alive.

Of 280 brides, Joyce was the only one supported by more than three (3) ushers as she got off the Mercedes Benz trailer that drove her to the historical grounds where her life partner stood patiently awaiting her arrival.

Set to sanctify her relationship with longtime boyfriend, Stephen Kimbowa, Joyce pushed her own limits to defy the odds and her medical expectations.

Our reporter fast approached the well decorated seats Joyce and Stephen sat awaiting further instructions from the Church senior pastors Robert and Jessica Kayanja.

“She is not fluent at English,” Stephen told our reporter with a smile. “She can best express herself in Kisawhili. I will do most of the talking I guess, but not to worry, she will say something.”

“We have been together for 6 years now. We have 2 children and are so happy about today. I don’t know how best I can best appreciate the Pastor Robert Kayanja and her wife, but we are really thankful for what they have done for us.” Stephen said.

“I have been following 77 Days of Glory soon as I got to know about the program on TV. I used to see people pray, many miracles happening. We didn’t have a decoder at our house, but I found my way to our neighbors house to follow the program. That is how we later found our way here.” Stephen, who owns a saloon said.

Stephen noted that he has been pushing Joyce’s wheelchair to Church every evening for the revival meeting (77 D.O.Gs Phase 3).

“I pray the church will one day give us an opportunity to share our testimony in detail. I have a lot that I want to share about the goodness of the Lord. You can see the condition she is in. God has given us Children. She goes through normal delivery, and often many are surprised.”

When it was her turn to speak, our reporter could not help but notice that Joyce had grown comfortable listening to the words coming out of her husband.

Joyce said having two children, a man that loves and accepts her the way she is a miracle. That aside, she said getting married in her condition was a miracle too.

“Giving birth was a miracle especially our second child who is about to make a year.” She said

She noted that Pr Jessica Kayanja’s Girl Power Ministries has equipped and empowered her.

Moments later, Joyce and Stephen went forth and took their marriage vows.
