Pastor Robert Kayanja, the founder of Miracle Center Cathedral has described 2021 as a year of preaching the gospel, encouraging Christians to be ready in season and out of season.
He revealed on Thursday night as many welcomed the New Year with prayer through various digital platforms that this year, “the Church will rise up from promiscuity to prominence.”
For this to happen, Pastor Kayanja encouraged the audience to get to a place in life where they can be led by the Spirit of God.
“I believe many of you had good resolutions last year but COVID-19 came in, messed up everything, but God has given us another opportunity. Please don’t offer yourself to death. Keep the COVID SOPs,” he started his sermon.
“God has clearly told us that this is the year of the tripple blessing: ‘Power, Presence of God, and Provisions,'” he went on.
“The power of the pulpit is coming back,” the founder of Channel 44 TV said, quoting Romans 1:16.
“The power of the preaching of the gospel is coming back. We will preach in season and out of season – on the internet, television and everywhere. You are going to see young and old preachers preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in hospitals, industries, schools and elsewhere,” he said, further revealing that like never before, “you are going to hear more of the message of the cross.”
“This is a year of preaching the gospel. It is a year of people coming out of bondage and dry pit by the power of the Holy Spirit,” he said.
Pastor Kayanja who doubles as founder Miracle Bible College, explained that God gives Christians power to create wealth, and transform society.
He encouraged many to venture into agriculture as means to generate revenue and curb unemployment.
“The presence of God is going to be so strong. 2021 is the year of the presence of God. In His presence is fullness of joy; in His right hand there are pleasures forevermore,” he said.
“For you to operate like that, you will have to be led by the Lord,” he continued, quoting Isaiah 58
On her part, pastor Jessica Kayanja called for repentance in the Church.
She cited 2 Chronicles 7:13, adding that in 2021, believers in Christ will “walk under an open heaven.”
“When the heavens open, you begin to operate in the prophetic. Nothing will surprise you, a voice from heaven will be beckoning you like it did John the revelator,” Pastor Jessica said, quoting Revelation 4:1.
It reads, “After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
“When the heavens open, the Spirit of the Lord comes upon you. Matthew 3:16 says, “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him,”” she added. “Have you been feeling empty? Pray for the heavens to open. Have you been feeling out of place spiritually? Pray for the heavens to open. When the heavens open, the comforter, convictor and power of God comes.”
It should be noted that Uganda’s government decided to suspend New Year Eve’s celebrations, including public prayers at places of worship as a preventive measure against the coronavirus pandemic.
Many churches resorted to daytime New Year’s Eve celebrations to observe curfew guidelines, while others switched to online platforms.
