Many notable Christian leaders in Uganda shared encouraging messages on new year’s day to bring hope to believers nationwide for 2020.
As one year ends and a new one begins, some people make resolutions while others search for self-help books in an effort to find direction and bring order to their lives.
In his message for 2020, Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga lead Pastor, Robert Kayanja wanted people to know that they can experience the “abundant life” talked about by Jesus in the Bible.
He described 2020 as a year of ‘perfect vision’ and ‘divine provision.’
The Channel 44 TV founder urged people not to put their trust in the arms of flesh but look to God instead.
Quoting Proverbs 29:18, Pastor Robert Kayanja emphasized that without vision people perish. “Vision is the ability to think about, or plan for the future with an imagination,” he said.
“God had a vision, which was to create heaven and earth, and man was to take dominion over it. You were created to rule the earth. Whatever has had dominion over you before, will not be able to do so this time around,” he told congregants.
Pastor Robert also explained how Jesus had a vision about what was about to be done when we came to the earth.
“2020 is bringing a vision: As it in heaven, so shall it be on done on earth,” he stated, quoting Psalms 115: 16 which says, ‘The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind.’
“If you are born-again, stay committed, and do not go back to drinking waragi, robbing people, or telling lies. Do not go back to where you came from, your vision will die,” he said
“Pastor Benny Hinn prophesied that in 2020, there is a mighty move of God coming to Uganda,” he added.
Moving on, Pastor Robert Kayanja was vocal about current affairs and people’s need for Christ. He proceeded to provide what he believes in the solution.
He urged listeners to invest highly in agriculture, innovation, banking, real estate and spirituality.
Pastor Robert Kayanja once again spoke against the Religious and Faith Organizations Policy (RFBO) saying it is an attack on ‘revival’ in Uganda.
“The RFO policy is already trashed in the garbage bin. If you are playing with Uganda, be informed today that there is an army of 65,000 pastors praying for the nation daily,” he said.
Elsewhere, Pastor Kayanja noted that marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure.
“Without marriages, you have no society and families. Marriage in Uganda shall be strengthened. These days [unmarried] people just sleep together, but God’s word is going to stand,” he said.
“We have wedded more people than Catholics, Anglicans and Muslims in 2019. We believe in marriage, and as a result, we have now a marriage retreat which runs every first Saturday of the month, and a TV program that runs every single day,” he added.
Regarding corruption and witchcraft, Pastor Kajanya announced a renewed war against the vices.
The night prayers were graced by the Head of State House Anti-corruption Unit, Lt. Col Edith Nakalema.
“I want to appreciate you for the prayers you make for God to deliver this nation,” Pr Kayanja told listeners, before the church ushered in 2020 with fireworks and a meal there after.
