Having celebrating his 32nd birthday on Friday, Light the World Church senior Pastor Wilson Bugembe will this weekend (Sunday 7th August 2016) have a thanks giving praise service at 7 pm, dedicated to kids that he takes care of.

Bugembe, who was orphaned at an early age that saw him live part of his life on the streets will additionally launch 2 books that he has personally written; “Living With Thorns” and “Who Is Writing Your Story”

Following a message that he shared with his fans on social media on Saturday, the gospel singer met a school recently on his way to Kabale District, Western Uganda where all children had no shoes.

This encounter has since inspired Bugembe into a drive intended to generate scholastic materials and shoes for the children.

“Bring me any scholastic materials – bring me shoes as well and let’s send some one back to school,” he remarked

“More exciting we will release a new CD called ‘Sinza’ non stop worship.  Our church started with nothing-under a tree with 9 students. ‘Mercy Child Care’ has grown to help out more orphans. Worship nights have filled up stadiums. Celebrity Sunday tells one thing, let’s all fear the one that the stars fear!, Street church,” the gospel singer further stated

In Uganda many people are competing for a limited number of good jobs, and without a decent education it is very hard to get one or have the confidence to initiate your own business instead.

Paying school fees is beyond many families, especially where they have a lot of children. This means that many children are left sitting at home, waiting for their relatives to try to scrape together enough money to send them back to school.

However, matters are made worse by the fact that at all schools there are many extra school requirements to pay for on top of fees.

According to the World Bank Uganda has 83% youth employment – one of the highest rates in the world.

“I have been on the roads, I have seen people die, He has saved me. God has written for us an amazing story. God has won for us every battle. He has crushed our enemies. I have seen miracles, signs and wonders. For every tongue that has raised against us the Lord has defeated. Every camp of the enemy has been scattered. He turned our water into wine. From the desert to the river,” Bugembe remarked in conclusion.
