Canaan Gents: Founded in 2010, the group is composed of five (L-R); Samuel Lubwama , Charles Ssentongo, Samuel Baker Bitwire and Kawuki Isaac.

The Canaan Gents are a fast-rising gospel singing acapella group dedicated to serving the Lord and spreading the gospel using their musical gifts and talents.

They will for the first time since teaming-up release an official music video for one of their hit singles ‘sing’.

Samuel Lubwama, their lead vocalist says, “Sing is a song of celebration, the joy one gets on knowing that our Savior Jesus Christ Lives. If Christ came back today, many people would probably be lost for words thus stating it like we did in this song, ‘Pepepe papapa'”

For the multiple-award winning group, it’s more than going on stage and singing their songs the best way they can. It’s about engaging their audience and bringing them through to the other end of God’s Joy.

Their stability and commitment to the cause has drawn the hearts of many back to God.

Lubwama says that the concept of Gospel musicians premiering videos has been around although many haven’t embarrassed it.

“We decided to take this path because ‘Sing’ was the first song we released, and the ‘Sing Video’ is our first video to hit the market, thus coming up with all this video premier,”

This video premier will take place on 22nd October, 2016 at Gatomato in Kampala, Uganda. Entrance fee is 10,000/= ugx Ordinary and 20,000/= ugx for VIP.

Following the departure of one of their members (Marc Tugume) for further studies to Wales, UK, Samuel was also quick to note that they do have a new member in the group.

“His name is Samuel Baker Bitwire. He’s a student at Makerere university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Telecom engineering. He is a very talented gentleman whose ability to grab stuff is exceptional. He’s also good when it comes to his vocal ability,”

Marc Tugume finalized his bachelors degree at Uganda Christian University in 2015.  He set off for a masters degree in Law (LLM) in September 2016, bringing their number down to three.

Lubwama says that new member Samuel Baker Bitwire is a worship leader at Watoto Church.

Sing has been produced by Sam Bisaso, and they have worked with Mr. Aaron Kajumba, a pastor, on several issues related to this project.

“We’re super excited about this video and it will come your way pretty soon. We continue to bless the Lord for the far he has brought us! Ebenezer.” Samuel Lubwama says.

Tickets are available at Power FM 104.1 Head offices and at Gatomato.
