For the past few years, questions remain about whether believers in Christ can come together to find solutions for the most pressing issues of our time.

Ugandans have engaged in nationwide conversations to see if corruption, immorality, biblical error, disease, poverty, wars, orphans and many other issues that seem to be the order of the day can come to an end.

Peter Kasirivu, the lead pastor of Gaba Community Church, Kampala and team leader of African Renewal Ministry says God has called the Church to be an agent of this transformation the nation needs.

Perhaps, it is time that Christians understood their true calling and started acting with the conviction that something can and must be done, the Pastor says.

With the aim of exploring the challenges, opportunities and strategies on how to create impact in society, Mr Peter Kasirivu has announced the 2017 Renewal summit that he stresses is aimed at communicating God’s big picture of transformation and will rally God’s children to actively be a part of it.

“God has called us as a Church, ministry to be agents of transformation. But this call is not only for us. It is a call for the whole body of Jesus Christ. What we are doing is to blow the trumpet. We can change Africa. Lives, nations must be transformed, and the only way this will happen is when we, who are called God’s people come to know who we are, know out mission and our mandate.” Pr Kasirivu says.

Renewal summit starts 21st August and is expected to run under the theme, “Mobilizing God’s people for the transformation of society.”

“It is for global leaders, NGO’s, business people, church planters, pastors, and all those who wish to benefit from the this conference – it is for the entirety of the church. The movement of God’s mission sweeps across everyday, ordinary lives.

“We will have two sessions – The summit happens during the day (8-5pm). Here we will have speakers, one by one. We will have breakouts and networking opportunities. Then in the evening, we have what we call the revival service.” Pr Kasirivu says.

“Evening revival sessions free. There will be worship. Expect a message preached by a man anointed of God. Expect an encounter with God. Where there is a meeting of men, There is a meeting of the Glory of God.” He adds.

The summit is expected to draw national and international speakers including; Apostle Alex Mitala, Pr Micheal Kyazze, Pr James Kato, Pr Charles Mugisha, Pr Moses Mugisha, Pr Jim Birchfield, Brad Thomas, Pr Laban Jjumba and many more.

“We have the country director of Compassion international. We also expect the Executive Director of our City, Kampala, Jennifer Musisi. This is a woman God has used to bring transformation to our beautiful City. For her, its a mission that God has called her as a child of God, she is making a difference in our city. We also have Rita Nkemba – She has been an inspiration to me, picking kids from the streets, helping them to know who God is but also helping the  re-connect back to society.” Pr Kasirivu says.

The Preacher says Christians from 15 countries including Congo, south Sudan, Zambia and Malawi are expected to come to Uganda for this Summit.

“We have people coming in from the United States, UK, Canadians among others.” Pr Kasirivu said, calling Christians to join them in prayer for the summit.

Ending 25 August 2017, the Conference will take place at Gaba Community Church, Kampala – Uganda. Entry; 180,000ugx and 450,000ugx.
