Christians in Burundi will on 29th July be ushered into the 3nd wave of Pamoja Festival, an annual event which unites top gospel artists and Djs from four countries; Burundi, Uganda, Kenya and Zambia.

The festival founder and vision bearer recently told UG Christian News that the main objective of Pamoja is to promote the good news through relevant inspirational music that is appealing to the urban culture.

This year, a number of Ugandan gospel artists, Deejays and and hype-men including Zabuli, Paul Selah and DeeJay Stef will grace the remarkable event organised every last Sunday of July each year.

“‘Pamoja’ is a Swahili word that means Together. Pamoja festival is an idea generated from a need to bring the Gospel music industry on one platform and also enhance unity among the Burundian community – to express joy and love that comes with music.” The founder told our reporter then.

During this year’s press conference, Hugues Safari, the Pamoja Festival communication assistant said besides the festival, gospel artists are supported in different ways.

“There have been training and mentorship sessions for the young artists who are later on put on contact with managers who can help them grow financially and/or morally,” Safari said.

The event is scheduled to take place at Karera beach – Bujumbura starting 2pm (EAT)
