The night may be cold but, this will not quench the “huge thirst” for the gospel among residents of Busia, a town in the Eastern region of Uganda.

By 2pm (EAT) on Sunday, hundreds had started flooding Sibarara grounds. Young and old, some came caring children, others luggage and bottles of water, an indicator that not everyone was coming from the closest neighborhood.

At 5pm, the stage had been raised and choir made ready to lead the expectant crowd in praise and worship. It was intercession, one song after the other, prayer interludes, and then worship that drew everyone at Sibarara grounds close to the pulpit.

By 7pm, Pastor Imelda Kula Namutebi, the founding pastor of Liberty Worship Centre lnternational – Lugala was at the forefront of the audience effortlessly waving her hands and singing “haleluyah haleluyah haleluyah, Jesus hallelujah.”

“Lift your hands a little higher.” She told the crowd drawn in worship.

“Now let me pray as they are still lifted up.” She added.

This is Pr Namutebi’s second visit to Busia this year. The Church has had several crusades across the country in districts, Mubende, Greater Masaka, Iganga, Mityana, Masindi among others.

She sent out her greeting and led the crowd to Genesis 7.

“In that time, Noah was. When God wanted to save and set free, he said unto Noah; make an ark, go and bring my people right into it. Many contended. Some people laughed, others mocked him. Others said; look at this bitter man, what does he want with us?

“Noah with his children made the ark for over six hundred years. Time came when Noah told God, I’m done building the ark that You commanded me.

“God told Noah that because of your faith, righteousness has been accorded to you. Noah believed God even when he had not see him. He built the ark, by faith. We too are here in Busia by faith. We have brought an ark. This ark was made and finished over 2000 years back. This ark is Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.

“Jesus has sent me to this town. I’m here to collect you to this ark. Enter this ark called Jesus. You don’t know where this ark is or leaves. You do not know when the ark is coming, but all the current proceedings indicate the coming of Christ.

“That is why he says; Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Noah went about calling upon all those that were heavy laden to come into the ark. I’m here to resound the same declaration, the hour is now, Jesus is coming back soon. That is why I’m here again, I was here in March – I’m back in August – what do you think has brought me back? God has sent me to you again. He has told me to inform you that He has built an ark and they should come into it.” Pr Namutebi said.

Her sermon was accompanied by several testimonies of miracle healing and deliverance from witchcraft control.

This gathering will run 7 days, 20th – 27th August, under the theme “Busia for Jesus conference and crusade.”
