Better known as Reborn Status, Javan Mwine is a Ugandan gospel artist born 21st December, 1993.
Having growing up from some of Uganda’s city slums, he says that during his early age, he recalls throwing stones at a preacher who beat him up for not going for children’s Choir practice. To this day, the same person turned out to be his mentor and close friend.
The Genesis
Throughout my upbringing, a lot happened but when I tell people about it, they don’t believe me.
This is because of what they see today. I had countless pears that weren’t saved.
I tried to run out of church many times, but you know, if God calls you, no matter where you go, no matter where you hide, He is everywhere; you can’t get away from Him
I was like Jonah. We were too stubborn and crazy. I was violent and extremely wild. Comparing the present and the former has been trouble for many.
Nevertheless, I grew up from a welcoming, supportive, God fearing and above all humble family, born to Janet Mbabazi and Jack Bachu. I am the second born of two.
The Altar call
“Around 2009 , I was introduced to a man of God called Pr Sande Muhinda at a conference. It was though the powerful message he shared that God opened up my heart and drew me closer to Him.
He mentored me with regular follow up over time.
He preached to me and by the grace of God, I got saved that same year. My life has never been the same, and it is from this experience that I write some of my songs.
I had a lot of questions before however, God has fulfilled me.
People keep wondering in the world simply because they are looking for answers and solutions in places and from people they can never find them. God has it all.”
On Music
Music has always been part of me. I started by joining a children’s choir back in 2004, then youth team and later worship team up to today.
I started recording music official in 2013. Today, I am the lead keyboardist at church. I also play drums and the base guitar.
I have released 5 songs. I worship you is the latest project.
A few years from today, I pray that my music will have impact with evidence of healing, deliverance in African and the outer most parts of the world.
