Ronald Mayinja turns to Jesus Christ for salvation

SCREEN GRAB: Pr Robert Kayanja hugs Ronald Mayinja upon accepting Christ as his personal Lord and Savior during Day 57 of the 77 Days of Glory season 8 at Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga on Sunday.

Well known Ugandan musician, Ronald Mayinja has repented and turned to Jesus Christ for salvation.

This happened on Sunday when Da Nu Eagles Production band member, made his way to Miracle Centre Cathedral where multitudes had gathered for Day 57 of the 77 Days of Glory season 8.

Moments after a lengthy unpublicized chat with Pastor Kayanja, the two were seen praying.

“Ronald Mayinja has just confessed the salvation prayer in the name of Jesus,” Pr Kayanja said.

This announcement was followed by a loud cheer from the congregation.

I have been seeing him on posters and on TV, but had never met him before, Pr Kayanja said.

Addressing the jubilant audience, Mayinja recounted some of the ordeal he persevered the last 4 years, and expressed excitement over his new life in Christ.

“I have lived a life pleasant to look at, but inwardly I have been crying. Today, I made the decision and prayed to die three (3) times . What has been tormenting me most has lasted 4 years, but I said I cannot die,” Mayinja said.

Before he made his way to the Cathedral, Ronald Mayinga had contemplated taking his frustration to a bar.

“I wondered, which bar is open right now. I didn’t go there. In my mind, I yearned to go to a church, but wondered which one is open Mondays because I have been fellowshipping at Namirembe Cathedral,” Mayinga said.

“I got an idea like I was speaking to someone, the voice said, pass by Pr Kajanja’s Church. If you find them praying, go along and pray with them. When I came here, I was given a seat. I felt peace in my life,” he continued.

“I had never met Pr Kayanja ever before in my life. I have only seen him on TV. When I came at the pulpit, I told him my issues in a whisper.  I whispered a lot of issues. He told me all that has come to an end, let us pray. From today I have accepted Jesus Christ, He is the Lord and savior of my life,” he explained.

Ronald Mayinga told the congregants Pr Kayanja said he will stand with him as he kick starts his new found faith in Christ.

“Pastor has promised to stand with me – I request you to also pray for me. May the Lord strengthen me, that I may know him more as i still can,” Mayinga said.
