Jesus gave up His life. He did not try to run away, hide or fight back when violated. It was not the nails that killed Him. It was not because of the wounds that He sustained. What killed Him was your sin and mine. He died and took our place so that we can become the righteousness of God.

The bible says the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). You pay with your life. The bible still says none of us is Holy and that our righteousness is as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). If none of us is Holy, that means we all had no chance to live again. Jesus came to take our place. In believing Him, we become free and forgiven.

The day He died something powerful happened. He spent three (3) days before He could come back to life. Resurrection today addresses so many things.

It helps us to understand that their is hope. It helps us understand that Christ Jesus has taken care of the infirmities and challenges of Humanity. Jesus says; If I rose again from such a horrible incident, and I overcame death, I will take care of your problems. Easter is a day of joy, comfort and celebration.

When Jesus rose from the dead, He tells everything that is hopeless and death that you can leave again. Are you faced with bad news, God can change that by the power of resurrection. If Jesus overcame death, you can overcome that battle you are facing today. Resurrection tells us that what is impossible before men is possible before God.

Good news is that Jesus rose again, bad news is that we are confronted by the reality of death. Resurrection means you look death in the eye and confront it. None of us here will live for over. We have to answer this question; Where are you going after death? How are you fairing spiritually now? Are you spiritually fit?

Very often we don’t want to talk about death, but resurrection pushes us to ask these questions and look at death in reality. You cannot talk about resurrection without talking about death.

If you have not accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, what are your plans after death? Do you have hope beyond the grave?Jesus is the only one who can give you hope beyond the grave.

Resurrection gives us an opportunity to understand that the Word of God is authentic because this was something that was written long before Jesus was born. It was declared that He was to be born, crucified and that He would come back from the dead. The bible is the infallible truth of God.
