hew3We are going to use Leviticus 17:1-16, Mark 8:27-29 and Luke 9:10 as our reference scriptures.

So many times, we don’t try to find out who people think we are because, we assume that what God says about us is enough. That’s very true. What God says is the most important issue but, in our reference scripture [Mark 8:29], Jesus is interested in knowing what people out there think He is and what his closest friends also think He is.

Looking at Proverbs 22:1, Jesus was not asking because He wanted to find out who he is, no! He knew who he was, just like you too know who you are.

He was aware of all scripture. Primarily, we need to realize that our name must stay untainted as we serve God. We need to be keen enough and listen to what people assume.

Jesus intended to reveal to the disciples who He was by the things that He did and said, not by making His own confession and declaration. Yet as I say, the most important thing in a person’s life is their coming to that understanding through faith of who He is in His person.

So many times we don’t mind how we live and relate thus doing things anyhow. However, who we are is a great tool to either promote or destroy what we do.

The world is sensitive to the smallest detail of your life out there. They observe and make conclusions and, if the conclusions are not dealt with, a lot of conflict will surround what you do and the people we inspire.

We see Jesus take His disciples to the point of revealing to them who He really is in His person, and this is really then the peak of all His work and ministry to this point, as this is now the most important part of His ministry to them, for they must get this point if they are to be able to continue to follow Him and eventually accept the sacrifice upon Calvary which He soon endured for them.

What was most important about His ministry was ‘the revelation of Himself (He was as the Messiah, ‘God the Son’)

The closest people, your spouse, your fellow leaders, your children. The people close to you must never be kept in the dark. They are your defenders in public. They continue your legacy even when you are long gone. They must know who you are.

You will either pray that God reveals to them or you must find a way of making sure that they know who you really are. Who is Jesus Christ to you?

What are you going to show for being a follower of Jesus Christ? It all depends on what you know he is! Who is He to you?

Maintain the right picture of His person. He is Lord of your life. In knowing Him, You will know who you are.
